FAQ’s

You only book a wedding photographer once - It’s perfectly normal to have a ton of questions for me. I’ve answered a few common questions on this page. Feel free to ask a question if there’s something I don’t answer in my FAQs.

  • I don’t charge for travel if you’re booking full-day coverage for your UK wedding. Short coverage includes travel within two hours from Rochester, Kent. Book a call if you're getting married further afield for a quote.

  • As a documentary photographer, my personal philosophy is there's no need to fix things that aren't broken. You and your day are beautiful the way you are.

I capture your day exactly as it happens and will never alter reality by cloning things in or out of your photographs. Rest assured, I know how to take the most flattering photographs, and I won't make you look like someone else in post-processing.

  • I’m right there with them. I don’t like having my photo taken either, so I totally empathise. Naturally, it’s a little awkward when I first start shooting, but you and your guests will almost forget I’m even taking photos quicker than you think; most tell me they forgot what I was doing after around 15 minutes.

You can relax and enjoy your day, safe knowing that my goal is to make you look good. I hear “this is the first time I’ve been happy with a photo of myself” kind of frequently. And while I love hearing it, I also think it’s a shame today’s media has made people judge themselves by unhealthy standards.

In my experience as a professional photographer, I find the more relaxed you are, the better you will look. So I won’t attempt to be a shy fly on the wall, as I would personally find that a bit creepy! Instead, I’ll chat with you and your guests and promise not to direct you constantly so you will look natural. I know how to take nice photographs of people and focus on capturing the moment and emotion of the day rather than turning your wedding into my photoshoot.

If you’re worried and want me to direct you a little, I can give you some basic prompts to help you look your best.

  • We’ll agree to this in the run-up to your wedding. Generally, I start preparation coverage a couple of hours before your ceremony. However, this can depend on your plans. For example, I may choose to begin slightly earlier if there’s a long drive between your preparations and your ceremony. Or a bit later if you’re getting ready at your wedding venue.

  • Your gallery will initially be online till your first anniversary. You can pay a small fee for me to continue hosting your wedding gallery for a further 12 months. Or you can download your photographs and make your own archiving arrangements. It sounds obvious, but I will not be responsible for their safety if you choose to host your own photographs.

  • Definitely! Just ask, and I’d be happy to show you a full gallery.

  • Maybe, this is my full-time job, so I’ve photographed weddings in many venues. Honestly, though, it doesn’t matter. My experience and unique eye are what you’re paying for; I’ve already solved every problem a location can throw at me, and those skills come with me wherever I go.

  • Yes! I have professional insurance. I’m more than happy to provide proof if your venue needs it.

  • It’s not likely. I aim to get a nice shot of all your guests, but the reality is some people avoid wedding photographers like trained ninjas.

I always send out a questionnaire ahead of your wedding. Some couples like to add their close family & friends to a group shot to guarantee a nice photo of them. I also have a question about your VIPs. It’s an ideal time to let me know if any guests are especially important to you. I will ask you on the day to introduce me to them so I can make them a priority.

  • Of course! My wedding coverage includes high-resolution downloads for you both free of charge.

Your friends and family can download social-media-ready photos for free with the option of purchasing high-resolution photographs directly from your gallery.

  • Nope! I’ll bring my own food and take a working break while you guys enjoy your wedding breakfast. I use this time to back up your photos, scout locations for your couples portraits, and set up lights for any speeches and your dance floor.

  • No, but my hourly rate goes down for longer coverage—So my full-day service is the best value coverage I offer.

  • It's hard to say what the situation will be like on your wedding day. I'm there to document your wedding in beautiful photographs - I'm not responsible for your guests' safety! I won't police social distancing; however, I will follow the latest government guidance regarding COVID-19.

  • “Ohhhh myyyyy goosssshhhhhh those photos are absolutely wonderful!”

    — Ellie & Patrick, Bedfordshire

  • “You really smashed it, came on our journey, and really looked after us.”

-Tash & Jake, Kingston Upon Hull

  • “We will be recommending you to anyone who will listen!”

    -Suz & Sam, London

    -Kane & Megan, Woodbridge, Essex
